The dust has finally settled and yes the 2008 Super 600 Showdown is over! Can I breath now? At times I wasn't sure if the day would come. Then when it was here with the weather I wasn't sure if we could make it happen. Well happen it did! From Pa. to California... From go karting sites to the Williams Grove message board the word is "THAT WAS THE BEST RACE I HAVE EVER SEEN!"
I couldn't ever had imagined that was going to be how awesome our show was! When I say OUR show thats what I mean. It took everyone to put on such a wonderful show. Without the fans, racers, volunteers and sponsors this show would not happen. So please take a minute and think about that... All of you were part of history. Yes that was history! The 2008 Super 600 Showdown will be talked about in many circles for years to come. And all of you made it possible. Thank You! Please also take some time and personally thank the following people and businesses... RTS Chassis- Our A-Main sponsor. Terry and Theresa are big supporters of micro racing and they have helped to make it what it is today. They are always striving to offer one of the most competitive race cars you can find. Lias Tire/American racer- Our B-main sponsor. Fred and all of the guys at Lias have been helping micro racing for many years. Hoosier Tire- Our C main sponsor. Hoosier is synonymous with racing. Always suppling support for racing and making a great product. Microracing.com- Our C main sponsor. Ok I might be a little partial here. But since Paul had started this board back when we still used steel motorcycle shocks it has grown a became an intricate part of our racing. Hyper Racing- Our Past Champion/High points last chance qualifier sponsor. And our Sidewinder Sprints series sponsor. Mike and Christy Dicely have consistently raised the bar in micro sprint products and production. Always working on new things and ideas. The Hyper Racing team has always been some of the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure meeting. Lanco Speedway- Lanco has and will always have a special place in my heart. I was weened on racing at this track. It was were I fell in love with the sport when I was about 14. The track has always been one of the nicest, well kept and run facilities anyone has ever seen. The volunteers at Lanco- I cannot begin to explain how many people put in so much with out asking for a thing. They love racing and Lanco. They show it week in and week out by the blood sweet and tears they put into that track every week! If anyone ever has the chance please volunteer a weekend. Put in the hours and see just what it takes and what they go through every week. I guarantee you that problem you might have at the track the next week might look a little different to you. With out the volunteers there wouldn't be a Lanco. The Fans- Without someone to watch it you couldn't call it a show. With out fans to come and support the tracks you wouldn't have a track or a place to race. That interview on the track wouldn't seem so important anymore. The cool car or awesome move you made wouldn't seem the same. Thank you. The Racers- Ah yes us racers..... A fickle bunch really. We work hard all week thinking about racing day in and day out. Just for that 10 minutes of race action. Yep! But man is that one awesome ten minutes! Not a feeling in the world like it. Your highest highs and your lowest lows. Sometimes all in one night. We would spend everyday and night doing it if we could. Again if we wouldn't race racing wouldn't happen. No tracks, no cool cars to watch, no chassis companies, tire manufactures, parts houses ect. We are racing. Racing is what we make of it. In a way everyone of us owns a piece of what racing is today and what it can be tomorrow... So what do you want it to be and what are you doing to make that happen? Thank You all very much, Jason Morrison Microracing.com |
