Canadian business owners Martin Roy and Carl Labonte have teamed up to bring the Tobias SpeedSTR's to Victoriaville, Quebec Canada. Martin Roy is a 4 time Big Block Modified champion at the Granby Speedway and is currently the official parts dealer for both Granby and Drummond Speedways. Carl Labonte not only brings his front running racing background to the table but he was also the co-promoter of the Drummond Speedway for the past 3 years.

Both Martin and Carl have been watching this exciting series grow rapidly in just one short year. They both feel strongly, that the concept Rich Tobias has set forth with the STR series as well as his successful Slingshot series is what our future has in store. Costs continue to spiral out of hand and most racers just can't keep up with the costs of technology. This open wheel series has and will keep those aspects in mind and will strive to maintain an affordable and level playing field.
 
Martin and Carl made a road trip Aug 5th thru 7th, stopping at Fonda to watch a Super DIRT series race, then off to the Susquehanna Speedway to get some laps in the Gary Hieber owned, Bucks County International #6 SpeedSTR, and then off to Teo to visit with Bobby and pick up parts (Martin is also a Teo dealer in Canada). The guys were very pleased with the performance and the craftsmanship of the STR's. They decided to move forward with their 2009 business plan by ordering 2 cars. 2009 will see the promotion of a Canadian series, which they already have strong interests.
